Product Description

Tynor Bunion splint is designed to correct the Hallux Valgus deformity of the big toe. On wearing, the toe is stretched in an overcorrected position, leading to elongation of soft tissues around the big toe, the mal-positioning is corrected over time. The device can also be worn as post – operative aid after bunion surgery to stabilize the corrected alignment. Dynamic hinge action keeps the foot flexible, so can be worn during walking. It is good, both as a day or night splint.

Application

1. Bunion mal positioning.

Instructions

1. In the beginning wear Bunion Splint for few hours only, to avoid discomfort.
2. Tighten enough, that it gives a hyper corrective position to the big toe, but is bearable and comfortable.
3. Bunion Splint can be worn regularly at night,
4. Slightly oversize shoe is recommended for a comfortable fit.
5. Ensure no constriction, avoid wearing ill fitted or pointed shoes. Wear wide front shoes.
6. Avoid wearing Bunion splint while swimming or at beach.

How to Use

1. The product comes in one size and can be used on either left or right foot.
2. Detach the hook tape fastener on the mid foot strap(big) as well on toe strap (small) to loosen them before wearing the product.
3. Slide the product on foot so that the hinge joint comes exactly over the big toe joint.
4. Hold both ends of the bigger strap with one hand and the splint with other hand.Pulling the strap ends together tighten the splint on the foot. Now fasten one hook fastener towards lower side and second towards upper side.
5. The toe ( small) strap can also be tightened using similar method.
6. The ball joint pad is placed on the underside of the foot, inserted below the bigger strap. It is set in position by fastening the hook side towards the bigger strap.The edge of ball joint pad should not extend beyond the center of the hinge. It is important to use the ball joint soft pad as it supports transverse arch, unloading the ball joint. Ball joint Pad should always be used while walking, except when special insoles are used inside shoes.
7. Bigger foot strap has ?Y? ?hook tape? clamp at the edges, which can be removed and the strap can be cut and shortened if required. Bigger strap can be flipped and used inside out by removing and changing the direction of the ?Y? hook tape clamp.
8. The Splint liner is fixed with the splint on hinge side and is provided with fastener on the distal side to make easy removal and re insertion of bigger strap.
