Product Description

Tynor Elbow Crutch is a very sophisticated walking aid designed to provide full weight bearing when one or both legs are physically challenged because of a nervous disorder, fracture, disease, injury etc. More and more professionals prefer usage of elbow crutch over the conventional Axillary crutch because of greater confidence of the patient, lesser fatigue and trendy appearance.

  3. Misuse or improper use of the device can lead to adverse effects, decreased effectiveness or loss of primary function.
  4. Follow instructions mentioned in the user manual carefully.

How to use:

How to Adjust:

  1. Stand straight with shoulders relaxed and arms hanging loosely at body side.
  2. The position of handgrip should be at the wrist crease.
  3. To adjust the height loosen the nut, press the spring button, lengthen or shorten the telescopic tube to achieve proper height.
  4. Ensure that the spring button is fully engaged in the adjustment hole.
  5. Rotate the nut to securely tighten it.
  6. The elbow support should be adjusted to 1-2 inches below the bend of the elbow.
  7. Press the spring button on the cuff extend to achieve the proper position of the cuff.
  8. Now the crutches are ready for use.

How to use Elbow Crutches?

  1. Follow the instructions of the doctor for weight bearing on the affected leg.
  2. Bring the crutches forward together, around 6 to 12 inches and slightly to the sides.
  3. Place the injured leg between and in line with the crutches.
  4. Take your weight through hands onto the crutches and carefully swing your good leg forward, placing this foot just in line with the crutches.
  5. Bring crutches forward and repeat action again.
  6. Keep your head and posture upright to maintain balance.

How to stand using Crutches?

  1. Bring single both the crutches in either hand preferably on affected side.
  2. Hold the hand grips of single both crutches in one hand.
  3. Push off the chair or bed with the free hand and stand.
  4. Check your balance, thread each hand through cuff and hold the handgrip.
  5. Put crutches in front and slightly to sides, and you are ready to go.

Note: Your therapist may show you different ways to stand up depending upon your situation.

How to sit using Crutches?

  1. Move close to the article on which you need to sit.
  2. Rotate slowly with crutches, back up to the article until you feel it behind.
  3. Remove your hands from the cuffs.
  4. Take the crutches in one hand.
  5. Hold the hand grip with one hand.
  6. Use your free hand to reach to the article.
  7. Support yourself using free hand and slowly lower yourself landing onto the article.

Note: Your therapist may show you different ways to sit depending upon your situation

How to use Crutches while going up stairs?

  1. Position yourself to the first bottom step.
  2. Put your good leg onto the next step, support yourself through crutch.
  3. Take weight through crutches and step injured leg up onto the same next step.
  4. Bring crutches up onto the very same next step.
  5. Repeat this action again to continue go upstairs.
  6. On Stairs always use a handrail if available and one crutch. Hold the second crutch as shown by your Physiotherapist.

How to use Crutches while going down stairs?

  1. Position yourself close to the edge of the top step.
  2. Put your crutches down onto one step below.
  3. Step down with injured leg.
  4. Take weight through crutches and step down your good leg.
  5. Repeat this action again to continue go down stairs.
  6. On Stairs always use a handrail if available and one crutch. Hold the second crutch as shown by your Physiotherapist.

Recommendation:

  1. Accuracy of height for right position of the hand grip is extremely important for effective and comfortable use in Elbow Crutch.
  2. Try to use chair with high seat and arms to help you sit and stand easily.
  3. While on Elbow Crutches, watch for safety hazards such as cords, water / oil on floor, floor rugs, obstacles etc.

Product Care

  1. Clean and wipe the hand grip and other parts with mild soap or detergent.
  2. Periodically check and replace the rubber tips for excessive wear after use.
  3. Do not use solvents such as acetone, Lacquer thinner, turpentine or any petroleum product to clean the parts.
